If you are on the move and need a quick bite to eat, try Tim Horton’s in Allentown! This is one of the most popular coffee chains in Canada and they only have a few locations in the United States! How lucky are we to have one here in Pennsylvania? Their coffee is smooth and their donuts are fresh– you do not want to miss out!
Pennsylvania is full of fun places to see! The Pocono Mountains is one of the most beautiful locations in the state and a big vacation spot for many Pennsylvania and non- Pennsylvania residents. If you are looking for an adventure in nature, head to Bushkill Falls. Titled the “Niagara of Pennsylvania”, Bushkill Falls is made up of 8 breathtaking waterfalls, a chance to mine for gems, miniature golf, delicious eateries, and more! Want a more action packed day? Take a trip to Camelback Mountain Resort! This resort promises a fun filled day at any time of the year! A water park full of multiple slides and activities to cool off in the summer and a ski resort in the winter– you’ll never be bored here! All of this and more is a just a drive away from our Mountain Hollow Estates community in East Stroudsburg! Not too far from East Stroudsburg, you can catch a Lehigh Valley Phantom’s game at the PPL Center in Allentown! This minor league hockey team is amazing and #1 in our hearts! Sands Casino in Bethlehem is the place to go for a adults weekend only! Book a room, hit the casino, and enjoy a meal at the famous chef, Emeril’s, restaurant or grab a sweet treat from Carlo’s Bakery, seen on TLC’s infamous show Cake Boss!
There is a lot of history in Pennsylvania. As mentioned before, one of the biggest cities is Philadelphia. Once the capital of the state, Philadelphia holds artifacts such as The Liberty Bell, buildings like Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed by the founding fathers, homes like the Betsy Ross House where the first American flag was sewed, and more! Not to mention, quite possibly one of the most historical spots of the whole state– the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum where the Philadelphia icon Rocky Balboa once ran is also located here. Besides the major cities, Gettysburg is another historic landmark within the state. One of the most infamous battlefields of the Civil War is now a popular tourist attraction for anyone interested in learning more about our nation’s history!
Many notable colleges and universities are established in Pennsylvania. One of the most popular ones being Penn State University. Penn State University has 24 campuses throughout the state making the chances of running into a proud Nittany Lion a high one! Pennsylvania is also the home of one of the 8 Ivy League schools of America–The University of Pennsylvania. We also have a wide variety of state schools including East Stroudsburg University which is located right near Mountain Hollow Estates!
Overall, Pennsylvania is not just a state. It is a vacation destination, an educational journey, a historical landmark, and a home.
